Bishop Darin Burns was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2012 and 2016.  He is the Pastor of Downriver Christian Center Church in Lincoln Park, Michigan and serves as an Administrative Assistant and Jurisdictional Secretary for the Southwest Michigan Agape Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. 

 

Bishop Darin Burns an innovative Global Corporate Leader with 33-Years’ Experience in successful business practices that include all areas of the product value chain.   He earned a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from GMI-Engineering & Management Institute.

Darin has worked in the United States and abroad:  Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, and Philippines.  He also has relationships in Europe and Africa.  He has led Global Project Teams and Business Development Initiatives for numerous Companies and Products.  Positions have included CEO, Vice President, and Senior Manager.  He is currently CEO and Lead Principal at Omega Engineering Solutions, LLC.  Darin has worked with annual Budgets ranging from $20 Million to $1 Billion. 

 

Darin led the renovation of the Lelia Mason Building on the COGIC Headquarters campus which was dedicated in April 2016.  He also serves as Chairman of the COGIC Pontotoc Board which focuses on Affordable Housing Initiatives.  In the 2018 CY, the Pontotoc Board led the $3.5 Million purchase and financing of 81 Affordable Housing units in downtown Memphis.  He is currently leading the development of 200 additional Affordable Housing Units.      

 

bishop Darin and his wife Anne lead several Non-Profit organizations that focus on Community Development, Education, Social Services, Humanitarian Initiatives, and Small Business Support.  Because Anne is a life-long survivor of Sickle Cell Disease, they have established the Darin & Anne Burns Sickle Cell Foundation.  This foundation supports individuals and families impacted by Sickle Cell Disease.  Darin also volunteers as a Youth Mentor providing influential support to enhance leadership skill in aspiring entrepreneurs.  Darin and Anne have been married for

32-years and they have three (3) daughters, Kelly, Kristen, and Koren, two (2) Son-in-Law, Kyle and Fabrice, and three (3) grandchildren Brooklyn, Brandon, and Richard.
